If you want to download Gmail email in local drive, first go to takeout.google.com and sign in with your Gmail account.
Google takeout is a freeware tool of Google that offers all google product backup free of cost. User only need a strong internet connection to save a backup in local system.
Once you have logged, unselect all then search for "Mail" and select it.
You can choose to download all emails or just specific labels using filter options.
Next, click "Next step" and choose your preferred delivery method like receiving a download link via email or saving it to Google Drive or Dropbox.
Select the file type and size, then click "Create export."
Now, Google will start preparing your data, which may take a few minutes to hours, depending on your mailbox size. Once it’s ready, you’ll receive a download link.
If your mailbox size is too large then you have to little longer to genrate the downlaod link. Also here you have to remember that it gives data in .mbox file format.
